Here are some tips which are easy to follow but will go a long way in the development of your personality.
Always be kind and considerate. Be genuinely in people. Love begets love, interest begets interest, and nothing in this world is harder to give away than kindness. It always comes back to you.
Be well informed so that you can talk intelligently with people. Read, learn, be alert. Cultivate good manners, proper speech and voice. Tact, the ability to say or do the right thing, is most important. Example, do not ask a fat girl how much she weighs, an old maid how old is she, or how salary a person earns.
Widen your circle of friends. Do not be snob. If you are lucky to belong to a nice group of young people, look around for someone who is not so lucky and help him or herb him or her "in" with the group.
Some people have mistaken notions about popularity and making impression on people. For example, you must know someone who wants always to be the center of everything. He may be popular for a while but soon people will get tired of him. Do not forget that conversation must be two-sided. You will a good impression by being a good listener. Take part but do not dominate.
